Peer Review Process

When a manuscript is submitted to the Prime Journal of Management, Innovation, and Sustainability, the Editor-in-Chief first evaluates its relevance to the journal’s focus and scope. Submissions that are not in line with the journal’s objectives will be declined without external review. Manuscripts considered potentially suitable are forwarded to external independent reviewers, and the Editor-in-Chief makes a decision based on their recommendations. Possible outcomes include: rejection, major revision, minor revision, or acceptance. The final publication decision is made after a double-blind peer review process, which assesses both the relevance and the contribution of the article to theoretical and practical developments in management. Authors receive constructive feedback from editors and reviewers. Ultimately, the Editor-in-Chief holds the final authority regarding which manuscripts are accepted for publication.

The peer review process typically takes 4 to 12 weeks, depending on the response times of editors and reviewers. Authors who do not receive confirmation within this period are encouraged to contact the editorial office via email at primejournal@janabadra.ac.id for an update.

Only manuscripts submitted through the online journal system (OJS) at https://primejournal.janabadra.ac.id/index.php/prime/ will be processed. Each submission undergoes a desk evaluation to ensure compliance with the journal’s author guidelines and formatting template, as well as alignment with the journal’s focus and scope. If a manuscript is deemed unsuitable, the editor will promptly notify the author through OJS and email, and may recommend submission to another journal.

  • All manuscripts are screened for originality using Turnitin. Submissions with a similarity index greater than 25% will be rejected at the desk evaluation stage.
  • Manuscripts that pass the desk evaluation are assigned to external independent reviewers who assess their scholarly contribution to the advancement of business and management. At least two reviewers provide feedback using the journal’s review form.
  • If revisions are required (major or minor), authors receive reviewers’ comments and must revise accordingly. Reviewers only provide recommendations; the final decision remains with the editorial team and Editor-in-Chief.
  • Authors are given one month to revise their manuscripts. Extensions may be requested by emailing the editorial office. If no response is received within the specified time, the submission is considered withdrawn.
  • Once revisions are approved, accepted manuscripts are scheduled for publication in the Prime Journal of Management, Innovation, and Sustainability. The Editor-in-Chief determines the specific volume and issue for publication. Authors may request placement in a particular edition by contacting the editorial office via primejournal@janabadra.ac.id.
